Director of Transportation Selected for Meridian

On December 17, 2009 the Meridian CUSD #223 Board of Education approved the hire of Mrs. Sandra Baker to fill the Director of Transportation vacancy.
Mrs. Baker has over 30 years of experience in the pupil transportation industry. She started her career as a bus driver in Dixon and has been in various management roles for over 27 years. She has worked in both the private and public sector of student transportation, including working for two rural districts that are larger than Meridian.
Mrs. Baker is a Certified Illinois School Bus Trainer and has served over the last four years on the Illinois State Board of Education’s School Bus Curriculum Committee which has been updating the curriculum for bus drivers. In addition, she held a seat on the board of the Illinois School Transportation Association.
Mrs. Baker started January 4 and she is very excited to join the district.
